Hi Mayra and Leyah!

I feel the same way...summer is a mix of boredom and fun. So far though, I haven't been bored (yet!). I decided to not go out of town, so I am busy getting my apartment packed for my big move, and right now I'm heading out to the pool with my music (country, of course) and a good book. I think I'm going to read one of my "Karen Kingsbury" books, and maybe start "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls. Lexile level 700.

Miss you all!! I look forward to hearing more about all your summer fun.

Hi guys!

Marissa - well, I would say my apartment is small and cozy, but I am going to try and make it very cute with my decorations and furniture! I bought some new crosses from the wall and the mantle above the fireplace, and some new picture frames also to make it feel like home.

Marissa - I didn't get the email. Try again to linrogers@irvingisd.net

Allen - congratulations on becoming a big brother!!! That is awesome news - it made me smile and I had to share the news with my roommate Lauren.

Alyali - that sounds fun! I wish I had the Wii Fit games...I hear they are great exercise!

Hi everyone! Yes, summer has been pretty busy for me. My apartment is currently full of boxes...I move TOMORROW!! (Can you tell I'm excited?!!) My new apartment is in Dallas, and once I get it all organized, which may take about a week, I will post some pictures.

I have made a list of all the books I want to read. They are all by Karen Kingsbury, my favorite author. The list is long - 15 books! I just finished the first one. It was called, "One Tuesday Morning". It was about the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. The story was about one man who was found alive, and they thought he was a firefighter. They took him to his family, but he had amnesia and didn't remember anything, even who he was. Turns out, he wasn't a firefighter at all! He was a business man from Los Angeles who was working in New York City at the time of the attack. His "family" helps him discover who he really is and they help him get back to L.A. There is a sequel, called "Beyond Tuesday Morning." I'm reading that next!

Hey I guys I saw diego at the store just a few days ago.He just came back from Chicago. And I just finshed reading AlCapone's page on Alcatraz history.com,and part of the page of machine gun kelly.

Miss Rogers said...

Hi everyone!

Alyali - glad to hear that you saw Diego. I am happy to read he made it back from Chicago, and I love reading that you are still studying Al Capone and Alcatraz!

I have been enjoying my books this summer. My latest one is about a man named Dayne who is a moviestar in Hollywood, but he falls in love with a small-town theater director in Indiana. Totally a girl book, right?!!

Allen - I am going on a trip to New York City next week. I hope you had fun in Mexico!!!

allen said...

I'm back from Mexico, cool New York City i hope you have a lot of fun.
On the way to Mexico was boring, but i saw cool things like the Capital of Texas (it was huge). In Mexico i went to a HUGE lake.
I got on a boat. It was fun.
Alyali you really saw Diego.

Miss Rogers said...

Welcome back, Allen! Your trip sounds awesome. You must have stopped in Austin on your way if you saw the Capitol building. It is the largest in the country, behind the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. (I think that's right...I'll have to google it to make sure!)

I am leaving for NYC in a few hours. On my way to the airport. Talk to you all later!

Miss Rogers said...

Hi Mayra!

I loved reading about your summer. I can see Shiloh now, riding in the car with the family, like a little human. That is exactly how I thought of Chandler!

I still want to go to Six Flags. Can you believe I have never been? I MUST find a day before school starts to go! :)

I am sad to read you might be going to a different school. I hope I see your smiling face on the first day of school, but if I don't, I'll be thinking of you at your new school. The teacher that gets you in her class is VERY LUCKY!
